Minimalist Notes

Philip Glass can all too often sound like a pastiche of, well, Philip Glass. Today, for the first time in years, I listened to a piece by him that doesn't sound like it was written by an online Glass-music-generator: 4 Movements for 2 Pianos (2008).
To my ears, Michael Nyman can be hit-or-miss, alternatively sublime (hit, as in the Drowning by Numbers soundtrack suite) or headache-inducing (miss - can't think of an example right now). Water Dance is definitely a hit.
